What a wonderful world it is,
when you follow the Joy-Inside-your-breath
& open-your-heart-with-compassion-to-your-anxiety
This morning, I was going to walk to the East village
to ‘Cafe Pick Me Up’, and finish up the March blog,
when I heard a voice saying – ‘Go to the flea market
first…” There was an irresistible joy in that voice, which
I had to follow, and no sooner did I arrive to the ‘flea
market’ when I saw this rocking chair, which stole my
heart immediately. “How much is it?” I asked Joe the
vendor. “10 bucks 4 you” he said, “you’re my first
customer this morning”… I couldn’t wait to give him
the money, and take the chair back home…
I was full of enthusiasm, as I was walking home, crossing
Madison Square Park. All of a sudden I had a flash back
twenty five years ago, when my friend Ruthy whose second
name is ‘joy’, called me one evening and said she wanted
to come over. “but I’m siting in my chair feeling so comfortable,
and I can’t move” she said….. ” so, just come over with your chair”
I said in jest….
Little did I know, when I heard the buzzer fifteen minutes
later, that Ruthy took a cab to my house, carrying the chair
with her….
Twenty-five years later, Ruthy and I still laugh hysterically
when we see each other or speak on the phone… That joy
we always shared has never left. It has a precious and
transcending quality. No matter how terrible we may
feel, it always comes back and remind us to lighten up….
Ruthy’s mother, who was one of Israel’s nationally treasured
singers, and a very funny and joyful lady – died recently.
In the process of grieving, I keep reminding Ruthy that
her mother is fine, and that she is very busy singing for
the angels and making them laugh. I try to remember
my own deceased mother’s words whenever I would
get sad or melancholic – “if you lose that joy – you have
lost it all”.
The ‘Breathe Love’ event on April 7th, which Ruthy will
attend, happens on Passover-Easter weekend, and is
dedicated to celebrating the joy-of-being-alive-in-the-
present-moment, Honoring ourselves to breathe and
open our hearts with compassion to the struggling
voice of anxiety of separation form Love, which we’re
enslaved to (Passover) and resurrecting the body-mind
disconnect. from love (Easter). Join us in dancing 4 love
& 4 freedom.
.
Please note that we changed the time from 2:00- 5:00PM
instead of 5:00 -8:00PM to make it easier for those who are
celebrating the second night of passover.
